A multi-million-dollar redevelopment through the Queensland Heritage Trails Network revitalised one of the true icons of the Outback, the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre.
This epic tribute to our Outback pioneers was the dream of renowned Australian artist Hugh Sawrey.
A whole range of displays and exhibits include a focus on Aboriginal workers’ contribution to the development of Australia’s great pastoral industry and the role women played in developing the Outback.
The original information centre, a sandstone cottage built by RM Williams, complete with hand adzed timber and black marble floors, was restored to its original character and now houses the Hall of Fame’s growing library collection.
