Discover more QUEENSLAND
On the Pacific Coast Way

Stretching almost from one end of Queensland to the other, the Pacific Coast Way traces the coastline from Maryborough to Cardwell in the north.

Take in the rich history and natural beauty of the Fraser Coast and South Burnett regions. History buffs will be fascinated by Maryborough City with its original Queenslander homes and reminders of yesteryear at every turn.

Rockhampton and its surrounds in the Capricorn region are graced with superb examples of European and Aboriginal history while to the west, travellers will be captured by the colourful patchwork of diverse farming, cattle and mining industries.

Journey to the Mackay region and surround yourself in spectacular National Parks, breathtaking mountains and gorges, historic townships, a multicultural population, miles of golden beaches and of course the enchanting world of the Great Barrier Reef.

Townsville is the centre of the North Queensland region and from here you can travel west to the old gold town of Charters Towers before moving north on to Cardwell - the oldest town in Tropical North Queensland founded in 1864.
